Reading the mind of a dementia patient....

So one of our clients suffering from dementia, as of late has been lost sight of when he is hungry. He shouts "no!" whenever the caregiver ask if he wants something to eat. So, we worked with our care-givers for this family and found the foods he likes and we now just prepare them when he seems out of sorts. He always eats when the food is in front of him. Thank goodness. So creativity and resourcefulness is essential when working with this population.... along with a little reading of the mind! This solution is handy often. Dear Anthony is happy, we are happy.
